This was one of those books i started casually and ended up finishing much faster than planned. The Story starts with Jules Larsen, who is now living with Chloe, Jules’s best friend, after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend and losing her underpaying job. She’s having hard time searching for a job since the job market sucks. Then,,, Jules come across an ad poster offering $12,000 for 3 months apartment sitting, (apartment sitting is like living/taking care of apartment until someone purchase it). Jules believes when we are in tough situation, God gives an opportunity to make that situation better and she thinks this is one of them. Soo she decides to take this job but…Chloe is not happy, she thinks its kind of fishy, like who pays for just staying in an apartment? (right??). Jules accepted apartment sitting job even though it comes with strict rules – no visitors, no night away, no photos for social media and no disturbing other residents.
Barthlomew, one of the luxurious (gothic style) apartments in Manhattan, where Jules going to apartment sit and also happens to be infamous setting of her favorite novel. Jules moved in and then accidently met a fellow apartment sitter, Ingrid, who reminds her of her sister (who went missing eight years ago). Ingrid senses there’s something wrong in this apartment, and then, out of blue, she went missing. This causes Jules to dig into the past and uncover the history of Barthlomew.
My thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book and found it surprisingly hard to put it down. The story is intense and kind of scary, especially when suspense slowly builds up with each chapter. The middle portion of the book feels somewhat stretched but plot remains unpredictable throughout, and the fact that the twists were completely unexpected made the reading experience even more enjoyable

The way you casually said all this like its no big deal. while the story itself is lowkey messed up, made it even creepier.😁also, the ending felt better the way you told us
😁😁
Nicely written.
Thankyouu!
